Trauma Code : Heroes On Call
story about dr baek kang hyuk, who was previously a doctor in the international volunteering something apa tah lupa, but then di offer untuk jadi head of trauma department di hankuk university hospital. dia kena recruit pulak direct from the minister of health and welfare, memang terbukti lah dia ni gempak gila babi kan. and slowly, dia datang untuk ubah hospital ni from a disaster in handling trauma cases to the best trauma center.
aku suka describe story ni as dr baek collecting pokemons one by one to join his trauma center team. so, mari lah kita perkenalkan satu per satu pokemon yang dikutip beliau.
pokemon pertama. dr yang jae won. awalnya fellow from the colorectal department (basically dr bontot) which is also the reason dia dapat the nickname "anus". first day dr baek datang hanguk hospital, he was on call for the trauma department sebab shortstaffed. dia lari, lari, lari sebab banyak emergency. dia jugak lah yang first jumpa dr baek and firsthand tengok how dr baek selamatkan a patient with a knife fracture. dia jugaklah yang ikut dr baek naik helicopter pergi bukhasan selamatkan patient jatuh. dr baek then offer dia untuk join trauma center since dia berkenan dengan "anus" ni. awalnya dia hesitate, but then dia accept. yang menyebabkan dia sangatttt ii dibenci oleh previous attending dia, dr han yu rim. maka bermulalah perjalanan dr yang jae won dalam trauma center yang penuh dengan cabaran dan dugaan.
pokemon kedua. awal ii dah smackdown dr baek sebab dia nampak tattoo dkt tangan dr so automatically otak dia proses yang dr baek is a gangster. bengong betul nurse jaemi. she's a 5 year senior nurse in the trauma department. antara yang terawal kena recruit sebab click with dr baek and she's also very ii chaotic.
pokemon ketiga. walaupun awalnya dia pun termasuk golongan babi, namun character development dr han yu rim is the best. mulanya nak jatuhkan dr baek sebab dia pun ikut sama dengan director hospital nak kaut duit. until one day his only daughter accident and dr baek is the one who saved her, he owed him a big one. that owe then turns into being friends and sama ii thrive to save trauma patients.
lastly, pokemon keempat. dr park, the anasthesiologist. he's a resident in the fourth year, which the staffs usually tak kacau sebab tengah busy nak exam to be an attending. but the first time dia help dr baek with a surgery, immediately he was impressed and respected dr baek while dr baek also sees his capabilities. secretly hired as "spy" by the director, but honestly? tipu je HAHAHA. supaya tak ada spy lain yang buat kerja betul ii.
throughout the dramas, mix of emotions memang terasa. adrenaline rush, happy, comedy, sad, stress, relieved. everything was perfectly balanced. the chaos during any disasters, traumatic events or injuries, memang kita sendiri pun akan rasa. and the relieve when the patients are saved and survived, the best feeling.
8 episodes were definitely not enough to cover all different kinds of trauma accidents and injuries. some of the injuries that i can remember are liver failure, open fracture, heart fracture and gunshot injuries. and the politics in this drama? tak perlu cakap weh memang membara hati ini yee. punya nak kata corrupt nak mampus hospital tu stres gila babun. madah nak sauk duit masuk poket sendiri sampai ignore patients macam tak ada diginity as a doctor langsung.
i am patiently waiting for season 2 and hopefully, there will be more pokemons that have the same passion and mission as these pokemons to save more trauma patients. one of the best medical drama i have watched, ignoring some medically wrong bits.
